Indian tea is one of the finest in the world due to strong geographical indications, heavy investment in tea processing units, continuous innovation, augmented product mix, and strategic market expansion. Indian Assam Tea , Darjeeling Tea , and Nilgiris tea are considered one of the finest in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Varieties of Darjeeling tea<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. <strong>Black tea<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The most common type of Darjeeling tea, it has a strong flavor and is fully oxidized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Green tea<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This tea is minimally oxidized, has a lighter color, and a milder flavor than black tea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Oolong tea<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This tea is partially oxidized and has a unique flavor that combines the characteristics<br>of both black and green teas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. White tea<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This delicate tea has silvery, unrolled leaves and is light, sweet, and fragrant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. First flush<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This tea is harvested in early spring and is light, flowery, and slightly astringent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6. Second flush<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This tea is harvested in late spring and has a deeper golden color and a stronger sweet<br>flavor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">7. Monsoon or rain tea<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This tea is usually used for blending and is harvested during the rainy season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">8. Autumn flush<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This tea is harvested in the fall and offers a balance between the light first flush and<br>the powerful second flush.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Government Initiatives<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To help the Indian exporters market teas of Indian origin in overseas markets on a sustained basis, the Tea Board of India started a scheme: Promotion for packaged Tea of Indian origin.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The scheme provides assistance in promotional campaigns \u2013 up reimbursement, display in International Departmental Stores, product literature and website development, and inspection charges reimbursement of up to 25% of the charges.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Tea Board also provides subsidies to the domestic exporters to participate in International Fairs and Exhibitions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The aim is to provide a platform to the exporters to showcase their products in international events for promotion and facilitate the generation of trade opportunities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Competent Body for Tea Export<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tea Board India<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>All teas produced in the tea growing areas of India, including Darjeeling, are administered by the Tea Board, India under the Tea Act, 1953. Since its establishment, the Tea Board has had sole control over the growing and exporting of Darjeeling Tea and it is this which has given rise to the reputation enjoyed by Darjeeling Tea.
